Root FTP login can't write/upload the other Owner/Group file

Postby chandranjoy » Sun Dec 26, 2010 7:05 pm

Issue:
Root FTP login can't write/upload the other Owner/Group files!!!.

Fix:
1. In default ProFTP won't allow root login for security purpose.
2. Allow root login by modify the conf file /etc/proftpd.conf or /usr/local/etc/proftpd.conf
RootLogin on

3. Remove the root entry in /etc/ftpusers file.
4. Now you can login FTP as root. But you can't upload the files to
directories which are owned by others
5. To fix this issue add the following line in the above mentioned conf file.
CapabilitiesEngine off
